Marie Melodie does not offer any bottoms at this time. But the tunics, cardigans and sweaters are marvelous.  The styles and silhouettes are very classic and tailored and should make any curvy girl look fab. The pieces come in sizes 14-26 (XL-XXXL); sizes 44-58 in French sizing.  Be sure to notice the price difference between the Euro and the US Dollar when purchasing. You can get all these looks and more on the Marie Melodie website.

The model in these pictures is Stephanie Zwicky.  She is a French model and actress with a great blog: Le Blog De Big Beauty.  I love these photos of her and I’m half-tempted to wear my hair straightened so I can get the same hair cut.  Ms. Zwicky is all over the internet.  However, if you don’t speak French you may not be able to understand everything.  Check her out on these websites:

Yesterday, I discovered two things that delighted me, Amber Magazine and their interview with the amazing designer, Byron Lars of Byron Lars beauty mark.  In the article, Lars says that he will be embarking on new territory with plus size offerings for Spring 2010. Byron has been on the scene since the early 90’s, his work being showcased and sold in upscale department stores, such as Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue.   He has also designed fabulous, limited edition Barbie Dolls for Mattel.

beauty mark is primarily known for the chic shirts offered in Lars’ collections.   In it’s eighth season, the line has expanded far beyond that most coveted article.  His pieces are chic, sophisticated, edgy and undeniably Bryon Lars.  After viewing his collection at the website, I am very excited to see what he will be creating for curvy women.  Hopefully, his designs for the fuller figure will be on par with his straight size offerings.  Presented below are a few pieces from Byron Lars’ Fall 2009 collection, proof positive of an exciting new line to come.

Happy Tuesday Fabulistas!  I hope your week is already off to a great start and you are enjoying this pre-summer weather :-)!

Alloy is not just for the teens, you can find some great pieces there for plus size women. The dresses are available in 1x-3x and they are probably cut like a little smaller like most junior sizes. Alloy also offers jeans in several different lengths, good for petite and tall women up to size 25 (which equal 26 in regular U.S. sizes)

I hope you all don’t hate me showing you clothing that can’t be purchased in the U.S…..I just love to see what plus size women in the rest of the world are wearing.  Kanak is a line based in Spain.

Habana Dress Black/White

kanak-1This looks as if it can be worn as a dress or a top.  I’d wear it with jeans, but that’s just me.

Better T-shirt Black

kanakpic-4This would be my “Please JB, stop wearing that” shirt, lol! I have a real addiction to t-shirts….it’s sad :-P, lol!

The Kanak headquarters are located in Barcelona, Spain.  Their main goal is to design “down to earth fashions” for women who are not the standard size.

And because the site is mainly in Portugese, I can only guesstimate that the sizes go up to about a 24.   This is a safe number though, the measurements seemed to go up a bit larger.

The model featured in the pictures above is Yessica Garcia.  She’s adorable, and this happened to be her first photo shoot, ever.  Apparently, from a rough translation of the Kanak blog, Yessica won a contest and was chosen as the face of the Kanak S/S 09 line, which was inspired by Cuba.  Cool.
