I have had the chance to watch both More to Love and Drop Dead Diva and I was pleasantly surprised.

Yes, More to Love is reality TV, but I am very excited to see a group of beautiful plus size women get a chance to battle it out for love, lol.  There’s no good reason to not produce a show like this.

more to loveLuke’s a cutie, huh (former college offensive lineman who looks good in a suit).

Drop Dead Diva has a great plot and I was immediately sucked in.  It stars the lovely Jane Bingum as Brooke Elliot.  I love the way Bingum is ditzy but smart at the same time (if you ever met me and saw my personality you’d understand why ;-), lol).

drop dead diva

Here’s how lifetime.com describes the show:

The show tells the story of a beautiful-but-vapid model wannabe, Deb, who has a fatal car accident and suddenly finds herself in front of Heaven’s gatekeeper, Fred, who declares her a self-centered “zero.” Outraged, Deb attempts to persuade Fred to return her to her shallow existence but is accidentally relegated to the body of the recently deceased Jane Bingum (Brooke Elliott). A brilliant, thoughtful and plus-size attorney with a loyal assistant (Margaret Cho), Jane has always lived in the shadow of her more comely colleagues, whereas Deb has always relied on her external beauty. Now, by a twist of fate and a bolt of divine intervention, Deb must come to terms with inhabiting Jane’s plus-size frame and learn to reconcile her beauty queen ways with her brilliant new mind.

Support both shows!

Yesterday, I discovered two things that delighted me, Amber Magazine and their interview with the amazing designer, Byron Lars of Byron Lars beauty mark.  In the article, Lars says that he will be embarking on new territory with plus size offerings for Spring 2010. Byron has been on the scene since the early 90’s, his work being showcased and sold in upscale department stores, such as Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue.   He has also designed fabulous, limited edition Barbie Dolls for Mattel.

beauty mark is primarily known for the chic shirts offered in Lars’ collections.   In it’s eighth season, the line has expanded far beyond that most coveted article.  His pieces are chic, sophisticated, edgy and undeniably Bryon Lars.  After viewing his collection at the website, I am very excited to see what he will be creating for curvy women.  Hopefully, his designs for the fuller figure will be on par with his straight size offerings.  Presented below are a few pieces from Byron Lars’ Fall 2009 collection, proof positive of an exciting new line to come.

Crystal Renn is yet another one of my favorite plus size super models.  She brings it everytime as she does in this underwater photo shoot.  That’s right… underwater!

These are some amazing photos…one of the best plus size editorial shoots I’ve ever seen!  Ms. Renn couldn’t have looked better!

This is very exciting.  I have always believed that plus size models could do high fashion spreads in this manner.  Creative, alluring and seductive.  Those are just a few of the adjectives I can think of.

The photographer’s name is Luis Sanchis. He did the girl justice.
